Alain Graillot Crozes-Hermitage Blanc 2019
If you aren’t familiar with this producer it’s time to be. Alain Graillot is adored for his wines from the stoney soils of France’s Northern Rhone Valley. He has a highly-dedicated and growing following around the world, and still works the way he always has: hand-harvesting, organic farming, and whole-cluster fermentation. This white blend is 80% Marsanne and 20% Roussane from 35+ year old vines. Half the wine is aged in 1 year old Burgundy barrels and the other half in tank. Expect a deep golden color, broad and full-bodied with dry honey on the palate finishing with white pepper and a surprising zest.
