An Approach to Relaxation "Nichon" Semillon Barossa Valley 2017
We have 7 in stock (Inventory is live and accurate)
90% Semillon, 10% Sauvignon Blanc from 65 year old vines.
This fantastically textural and refreshing Semillon Sauvignon Blanc comes from the loving and brightly nail-polished hands of Richard and Carla Betts, two travelling American ex-Sommeliers who have a deep love for the great wines of the world made from these varieties.
The Semillon fruit is grown by gnarled old bush vines in the sandy soils of the Vine Vale sub-region of the Barossa. A splash of SB from the Adelaide Hills adds a little pop and crackle to the finished wine.
The fruit is fermented in seasoned oak barrels for ten months at low temperatures. With that amount of time in oak, the waxy, creamy textural components of barrel ageing impart another layer to what is quite vibrant and aromatic Semillon with plenty of zip and crunch.
We ship wine to most states with a $100 minimum order for shipping.
Weather shipping advisory: Orders placed during times of extreme heat or extreme cold will be held for no charge until more favorable weather returns.
A large country and large wine exporter, Australia has a diverse range of climates and landscapes. Traditional styles include massive Shiraz's from Barossa Valley and high acid Semillon from Hunter Valley, but many regions are now experimenting with different grapes and styles. Numerous old vine vineyards also dot the landscape of this exciting wine country.
