Brew Cru Walker Bay Pinot Noir 2019
Cool-climate South African Pinot Noir?! YES HELLO!! Sourced from Walker Bay, these vines are cooled by the intense, constant winds from the Atlantic Ocean, resulting in a long, slow ripening period. Growing in low-nutrient weathered shale soils, the vines produce small yields of concentrated fruit. Whole berry, whole bunch pressed, indigenous yeast, aged 10 months. When I first tasted it the note I took was “VERY PRETTY” with three underlines. True, and will remain true for 7+ years.
