The Emilio Moro Ribera del Duero originates from vineyards located in the heart of Ribera del Duero, known as the "Golden Mile." The Duero River shapes the landscape, leaving its imprint on the soils. The estate's diverse soils consist of calcareous, clay, and stony components. The calcareous soils, with their distinctive white color, are rich in minerality, contributing elegance and complexity to the wines. The reddish clay soils are fertile and retain water well, providing structure and character. The stony soils have a high concentration of stones, offering a lighter, more supple quality and aiding in ripening. The Tempranillo vines, chosen for their perfect adaptation to this terroir, form the cornerstone of this expression.
The Wine
This 2021 bottling presents a garnet-red hue of good intensity. The nose is complex and expressive with an intriguing balance between fresh red fruit notes and riper black fruit, coffee, and spice notes like vanilla and clove from aging in a mix of French and American oak. The palate is balanced, with a medium structure and approachable, appealing tannins. The wine possesses an easy-drinking nature while maintaining its personality.
