Ver Sacrum La Dama del Abrigo Rojo Nebbiolo 2021

$29.00

We have 12 in stock (Inventory is live and accurate)

Winemaker Eduardo Soler focuses on fresh, honest wines with minimal intervention. He has planted a variety of French grape varietals and this Nebbiolo is the fun oddball! Ver Sacrum is the name of the vineyard and means "new tribe, new vineyard, new vines" representing the tradition of older generations sending the younger members of the community out to explore and find new villages and new grapes to grow.

This wine is 100% hand harvested Nebbiolo from a single plot within the estate vineyard in the Los Chacayes IG inside the Uco Valley. The nose is dusty with notes of bing cherry, cherry luden suckers, cinnamon, and crushed dry leaves. The palate comes out with crunchy red fruit, blueberry, a little Hubba Bubba pink bubble gum quality, and then finishes with a nice backbone of tannin and fresh acidity.

Mendoza is Argentina’s largest and most celebrated wine region, tucked into the foothills of the Andes in the country’s west. Sun-drenched days, cool mountain nights, and mineral-rich soils create ideal conditions for robust yet balanced wines. Although Malbec is the star here—yielding lush dark fruit and refined tannins—varietals like Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay, and Torrontés also thrive. With each sub-region (from Luján de Cuyo to the Uco Valley) bringing its own distinct personality, Mendoza offers a vibrant tapestry of high-altitude vineyards that continue to elevate Argentine wine on the global stage.

Nebbiolo, a prestigious grape from Italy's Piedmont region, is celebrated for its profound truffle and rose aromas, complex flavors, and ability to age gracefully thanks to strong acidity and tannins, producing the renowned Barolo and Barbaresco wines.
