- Land: The Benanti Etna Rosato 2022 comes from vineyards on the southeastern slopes of Mount Etna, benefiting from a mountainous climate with significant temperature variations. Situated at altitudes between 500 and 700 meters, the 25-year-old vines thrive in sandy, volcanic soil, rich in minerals. The vine density is between 6,000 and 7,000 vines per hectare, contributing to the wine's concentrated character.
- Wine: This Rosato is crafted from the Nerello Mascalese grape, known for its elegance and adaptability to Etna's terroir. The vinification process involves hand-picking the grapes, a 12-hour cold maceration, and fermentation in stainless steel vats using indigenous yeasts. The wine is then matured on fine lees in stainless steel tanks, resulting in a pink/salmon-colored wine with a delicate, floral, and fruity nose, showcasing notes of broom, blackberry, and cherry. On the palate, it is dry, mineral-rich, with a pleasant acidity and saline touch, balanced by a slight tannin presence and a distinct aromatic persistence of red fruits.
