We have 9 in stock (Inventory is live and accurate)

  • Land: Situated in Saint-Laurent des Combes, Château Franc le Maine spans back to the 15th century. Acquired by Philippe Bardet in 2008, this Saint-Emilion Grand Cru vineyard has undergone substantial improvements, focusing on drainage and ecosystem enhancement. Its soils, a blend of sandy clay over gravel, are managed with environmentally sensitive practices such as natural grass cover and surrounding hedgerows to support biodiversity.
  • Wine: The 2016 vintage from Château Franc le Maine exhibits a deep ruby to purple color, with a lively nose of ripe red fruits. On the palate, it presents a well-rounded body, mature tannins, and a fruit-led finish, characterized by its density and sustained length. These qualities reflect the precise viticultural and oenological methods employed at the estate, including selective aging in barrels to achieve the desired complexity and structure.
  • People: Philippe Bardet, succeeding his father Roger, has continued to evolve the vineyard's practices since 2008, blending tradition with innovative environmental techniques. This approach ensures the sustainability and quality of their Saint-Emilion Grand Cru, maintaining the integrity and distinctiveness of their wines within this renowned appellation.
