The Land
From the rugged hills of Conca de Barberà in Catalonia, the Escoda-Sanahuja vineyards thrive in the shadow of the Prades Mountains. Here, the Mediterranean climate merges with cooler mountain breezes, tempering the heat and allowing for a slow, even ripening. The limestone-rich soils lend a vibrant minerality to the wine, while the high elevation preserves acidity. The Wine
A natural wine crafted from a blend of indigenous varieties—Garnatxa and Carinyena—Les Paradetes is alive with character. Unfiltered and made without added sulfites, it’s a vivid expression of pure fruit and earth. Juicy red berries, bright cherries, and wild herbs burst on the palate, balanced by lively acidity. There's a whisper of earthiness and a rustic edge that gives the wine a raw elegance. At 12.5% ABV, it’s light in body yet full of energy, with a refreshing, almost electric vibrancy that leaves you wanting another sip.
The People
Joan Ramon Escoda is a pioneer of natural winemaking in Spain, rejecting chemicals in both vineyard and cellar. His philosophy is centered around biodynamic principles, where harmony with the land comes first. Escoda believes in minimal intervention, allowing the grapes to speak for themselves. With Les Paradetes, his hands-off approach results in a wine that tells the story of the vineyard, the vintage, and the very soil from which it comes.
