Land: The Stewart Vineyard in Carneros, part of the Napa Valley, benefits from a cool climate, which is ideal for growing Merlot. The year 2019 began with sufficient rainfall, followed by a favorable spring for fruit set, and moderate temperatures during the summer. This led to a timely and unhurried harvest.
-
Wine: The Peter Franus Merlot from 2019 has a dark ruby color. Its aroma and taste include notes of graphite, blueberries, cream, roasted plum, dried herbs, and rose petals. The wine is notable for its balance of fruit, tannins, and acidity, with an alcohol content just under 14%. It's enjoyable now but can also be aged.
