The Land:

This wine is deeply rooted in the sandy soils of Priocca, on the fringes of the Roero, where Nebbiolo expresses its vibrant and aromatic side. Though labeled as Langhe Nebbiolo, this wine is distinctly Roero in style, capturing the essence of this underappreciated corner of Piedmont. The sandy terroir and diverse landscape—where vineyards intermingle with orchards and fields—imbue the wine with a bright, energetic character that speaks to Roero’s unique microclimate. This is Nebbiolo with a light touch, where the land’s less austere and more playful expression of the grape shines through.

The Wine:

“Fuschia,” a local dialect term for “little fog,” perfectly captures the wine’s ethereal nature. This Nebbiolo is fermented entirely in stainless steel, preserving its bright, fresh aromatics and primary fruit character. With notes of juicy strawberry, rose petals, and hints of wild herbs, the 2021 vintage is a vibrant, unadorned expression of Nebbiolo. Its light ruby hue and gentle tannins offer a delicate, approachable take on this often formidable variety. It’s a beautifully direct, pure interpretation.

The People:

Brother and sister team Gabriele and Serena Cordero are rising stars in Roero, blending technical ecologist training with a deep, personal connection to the land. Inspired by his family’s legacy, they transformed their grandparents’ old house into a modern winemaking space. What began as a passion project to experiment with vinifications for clients has evolved into a deeply personal venture. The wines reflect not just m expertise but their roots—intimate, small-batch expressions of their homeland.

Food Pairing:

Mushroom Risotto
Nebbiolo’s earthy and floral qualities pair beautifully with mushroom or truffle-infused dishes. A creamy risotto complements the wine’s complexity, bringing out its savory elements.

Pasta with Tomato-Based Sauce
A classic pasta dish like tagliatelle with a rich tomato sauce or puttanesca will balance the wine’s bright acidity and bring out its red fruit notes, making for a harmonious pairing.

Grilled Chicken with Herbs
A lighter option like grilled chicken seasoned with herbs such as rosemary and thyme pairs well with the wine’s structured tannins and floral notes, allowing the wine’s fruit and spice characteristics to shine without overpowering the dish.

Nestled in the northwestern corner of Italy, Piedmont is a wine region that oozes with charm and allure. Home to some of the world's most highly regarded wines, including Barolo and Barbaresco, Piedmont is a treasure trove of wine country delights. This hilly region is planted with a host of local grape varieties, but it's the noble Nebbiolo grape that takes center stage.
